Tanitol™ has a well-established safety profile and tolerability

Tanitol™ is naturally derived, drug-free, and well-tolerated. Based on animal studies and human clinical studies, the use of Tanitol™ is proven to be safe, and does not pose an unjustifiable risk for its intended indications.

Tanitol™ reduces the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates and sugar without any pharmacological, immunological or metabolic action or effects on the human body. As a result of this non-systemic mode of action, products made with Tanitol™ are certified as a medical device* under the Medical Device Directive 93/42/EEC.

Tanitol™ is formulated with ingredients that reduce the digestion of dietary carbohydrates, which may lead to flatulence (passing of gas) in some individuals during the first few days of consumption. This is not a cause for concern, as it will dissipate as soon as your body adapts to the increased amount of undigested carbohydrates.

* Medical Device is amongst others defined as any article, intended by the manufacturer to be used, alone or in combination, for human beings for the purpose of diagnosis, prevention, monitoring, treatment or alleviation of disease and which does not achieve its primary intended action in or on the human body by pharmacological, immunological or metabolic means, but which may be assisted in its function by such means.
